Following the deaths of four soldiers in fighting between the Colombian Army and FARC Guerrillas, lead FARC negotiator Ivan Marquez warned the government that peace talks will be compromised if the armed conflict continues to escalate. Marquez called on Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos to end the war by declaring a truce. He said that complicated issues are being discussed and should not have armed confrontation as a backdrop, nor the sad deaths of young uniformed soldiers or guerrillas. Santos said that the peace process is complicated and won’t come to an abrupt end. teleSUR
