Batman: Arkham Origins Revealed!
Game Informer revealed their upcoming cover story for the next game in the Arkham franchise, Arkham Origins.
The game takes place before Arkham Asylum and tells the story of Batman encountering many of DC's famous villains for the first time. In this reveal video, the developers talk about the story and how Batman's interactions with 8 assassins in Origins will set up those relationships for the rest of the franchise. You can see Deathstroke featured on the cover who is making his first appearance in the core Arkham games.
The game is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal who did the Wii U port of Batman: Arkham City, and is being lead by Creative Director Eric Holmes who was responsible for the open world design of Prototype and The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. They have full access to Rocksteady's custom modified Unreal engine to make sure the feel of the universe is authentic.
Arkham Origins will be released on October 25th for Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 25th. There will also be a companion game called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for the 3DS and PlayStation Vita which will launch around the same time as the console game.
