NEXT GEN XBOX LAUNCH TITLES RYSE & FORZA (Escapist News Now)
Back in 2011 at E3 Microsoft unveiled a title called Ryse. Set in ancient Rome, the game was one of the first to show off the features of the Kinect, putting you as the controller.
The Verge writes that, Ryse will be, "One of the first games to launch on the next Xbox...according to multiple sources familiar with Microsoft's Xbox plans."
We haven't seen much of this game anywhere except Microsoft has confirmed it is still in development. Apparently Crytek has been working on a rewrite with Microsoft Studios to tailor the game for the next-gen console.
According to the same sources, Ryse is being designed to be the next major franchise IP for the Xbox similar to Gears of War or Halo. As demoed in this trailer you will use extensive body tracking for combat, something the new improvements for the Kinect will make possible.
Ryse is just one of four major launch titles for the new Xbox, and it is rumored that Forza will be included as well with "Super life-like" graphics, along with a zombie game and a family game set on an island.
Of course there will be more than 4 titles at launch from Microsoft, and there is 3rd party developers to think of as well. Plus, it sounds like they are finally going to get rid of Microsoft Points and go to REAL currency!
