YEAR OF LUIGI: NEW GAMES FOR WII U (Escapist News Now)
Nintendo's President Satoru Iwata shared new information about their upcoming lineup and stated that this year is the "Year of Luigi."
First up is Party Like It's The Year of Luigi, yep, that is the title of the game. It's an installment in the Mario Party series and is slated to launch next winter. There will be seven different boards games, along with mini-games and a 30-floor tower climb. Plus there will be augmented reality card games and StreetPass Battles.
Next is New Super Luigi U, a downloadable content pack for New Super Mario Bros. U. The expansion includes updates to all 82 stages featuring gameplay as Luigi. Since he has different abilities than Mario, like his incredible jumping, different strategies will be necessary. Oh and to make it even more challenging, most stages start with only 100 seconds, so try not to rage quit too much. That will be out this sometime this summer.
Lastly, is Mario & Luigi: Dream Team which launches on August 11th. The game takes place on an island where Mario is tasked with going between the real world and Luigi's dreams to rescue Princess Peach.
