CALL OF DUTY GHOSTS LISTED ONLINE (Escapist News Now)
UK supermarket Tesco prematurely listed the next game in the Call of Duty franchise online, and it's called Ghosts.
After word spread across NeoGAF the site quickly removed the posts but not before these screens were captured. The box art shows what we can assume is the Ghost character and is labeled as being developed by Infinity Ward. Considering last year's Call of Duty was Treyarch's Black Ops 2, this falls in line with the development cycle of the franchise.
The box art is for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 which is no surprise but the release date was listed as December 30th, a common placeholder date. Previously leaks from other marketing materials place the release date as November 5th, which would fit right in line with previous Call of Duty launch windows.
This Target ad shows the Ghosts logo as well. We are getting precariously close to the new unveiling of the next Xbox and given Microsoft and Activision's close Call of Duty ties in the past, it would make sense for them to reveal the game at the new Xbox unveiling event.
