XBOX 720 NOT ALWAYS ON? (Escapist News Now)
The drama continues over the next generation Xbox. The latest report comes from Ars Technica and what they say is an email from Microsoft Officials to all internal Xbox employees.
The email says that the new Xbox, codenamed Durango will allow gamers to play games without being connected to the internet, despite many other sources saying otherwise.
Allegedly the memo states, "Durango is designed to deliver the future of entertainment while engineered to be tolerant of today's Internet...There are a number of scenarios that our users expect to work without an Internet connection, and those should 'just work' regardless of their current connection status. Those include but are not limited to playing a Blu-ray disc, watching live TV, and yes playing a single player game."
All of the outrage over this issue certainly could have swayed Microsoft to do a 180, but we won't know for certain until May 21st when Xbox unveils their new console.
