FANTASIA: MUSIC EVOLVED ANNOUNCED (Escapist News Now)
Harmonix announced they will be creating a game with Disney Interactive called Fantasia: Music Evolved.
Yes Fantasia like the awesome Disney animated musical film from 1940. In the game you'll enter Fantasia after being selected by the legendary sorcerer Yen Sid to become his new apprentice.
The game will be available on the Xbox 360 with Kinect and the upcoming Xbox One as the game will utilize Kinect motion controls. You'll use your body to control the flow of music while you introduce new elements to the environments.
According to various previews of the game, the only character you see from the original Fantasia is Yen Sid, but hopefully some characters will make an appearance at some point. But it appears as though the emphasis of the game is on exploration and creation. You'll be interacting with various environments to unlock new items and add to the musical track you are playing.
There is a freestyle element that allows you to draw shapes to create new tracks to layer into the active one. Your goal is to fill up a meter by collecting stars from these interactions within the environment.
Current artists will be featured, including the 5 announced tracks by Bruno Mars, Queen, Kimbra, Avicii, and Fun. There will be over 25 artists each with two unique remixes in addition to the original recording
