Supporters of President Rafael Correa's proposed inheritance and capital gains taxes have taken their campaign in favor of the progressive and redistributive fiscal measures door-to-door as part of the national debate and to counteract a right-wing disinformation effort. The right-wing opposition, meanwhile, has continued its protests, often violent. Correa took to the airwaves to warn the population that a coup is in the making and called on supporters to take to the streets to defend the Citizens' Revolution. While recognizing that most protesters were peaceful, he noted the exist of a violent minority that seeks to remove him from office. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito. teleSUR
