For Argentina's August 9 presidential primary election, 13 candidates have been enrolled to head nine different coalitions. Only one candidate is contending for the ruling Front for Victory coalition's nomination, Daniel Scioli, Governor of the Buenos Aires Province. His running mate will be Carlos Zannini, a close collaborator of current president Cristina Fernandez. For the right-wing opposition, the main contender will be Buenos Aires mayor and leader of the conservative Republican Proposal (Pro) party Mauricio Macri.
