DARK SOULS 2 BETA, NEW DETAILS (Escapist News Now)
Namco Bandai has announced that the hardest game ever, aka, Dark Souls 2 will be having a closed beta. It is scheduled to begin October 5th for select players in North America and Europe on the PS3 via the Playstation Network.
If you want to get in you'll need to keep an eye on the Dark Souls 2 Facebook page starting September 5th for registration details. Namco has said players will experience, "overwhelming enemy encounters, diabolical challenges, and the unrelenting difficulty."
You'll once again be going on a pilgrimage to find a cure for a dark curse, and players will be able to feel the heaviness, darkness, and despair of that curse during gameplay.
The development team wanted to add more variety of deaths, and make the deaths more enjoyable, because that's a thing I guess. They also improved the feel of combat and added extra dimension to using light in the game both to illuminate areas with the torch and using fire against enemies.
Blood stains and blood messaging return but they've included new online elements like co-op and invasions. They also put a greater emphasis on the roleplaying aspect of the game, but wouldn't explain what exactly that means.
