Oscar 2012: Trend Alert! White, Shoulder Detailing, Buns, & Bobs!

It's all about the whites, reds, bobs, buns and sequins ladies. We're breaking down the latest trends we saw debut on the 2012 Oscar Red Carpet.
Let's start with WHITE—and I have to say it was the color of the evening. It was stunning on everyone from Octavia Spencer to Gwyneth Paltrow. But these stars, didn't just opt for basic white—it was embellished with capes, sparkle and sexy backless numbers like Rooney Mara's Givenchy Couture gown.
Next trend—is rocking buns. Anything from low buns, to high tight buns like JLo's which she paired with her Zuhair Murad frock. But one of my favorite buns was on the beautiful Emma Stone—She side swept her auburn tresses in to a low bun which was loosely braided to perfection.
Another hair trend we saw a ton of on the red carpet and at the after parties we're faux bobs—I think this is the best way to change your look in a flash and Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus were just two of the celebs who opted for this glamorous new trend.
And one of my favorite trends to come out of this years carpet was the shoulder detailing—Stacy Keibler's marchesa gown was the perfect example of how to add a little extra with a flirty off the shoulder almost sash like sleeve. Move over strapless, according to Mila Jovovich, Missi Pyle, Kate Mara and Penelope Cruz, shoulder straps are the new thing.
