Save it pretty mama - Wild Bill Davison & Art Hodes 1986
This was probably their last Toronto performance and we all loved it.
Two jazz veterans, cornet player Wild Bill Davison ( 1906-1989) and pianist Art Hodes ( 1904-1993), both in their eighties play the old standard “Save it pretty mama”.
Sorry about the camera work. I taped the full show and this lasted some 80 minutes. At this time about an hour in the show, this camera , the early Sony V8 camera became pretty heavy. I’m used holding a cornet for hours, but not a camera.
However the nostalgic value of this clip, where Bill even does the vocal, he was not known to be a singer, made me decide to make this posting.
