On New Year's Day, Koreans celebrate with their rice cake soup, so I grew up eating rice cake on New Year's Day. In this recipe, rice cake is cooked in a delicious beef broth with egg and seaweed added. It's so good, it will ring in the New Year's the right way.
Ingredients:
1) Flank Steak (1 lb.)
2) White or Brown Rice Cake (1 1b.)
3) Water (14 cups)
4) Salt (1 ½ teaspoon)
5) Pepper (1 teaspoon)
6) Beaten Eggs (3)
7) Scallion (4 stalks, diced)
8) Seaweed Sheets
Marinade for Beef:
1) Soy Sauce (2 tablespoons)
2) Sesame Oil (2 tablespoons)
3) Garlic (10 cloves, minced)
