Delhi city seen aerially

2015-06-17 1

View of Delhi seen from the sky. The outskirts show a meandering tributary of the Yamuna river with high-rise apartment buildings in the Ghaziabad and Faridabad areas, with patches of fallow and farm-land in between - all destined to get developed in the years ahead, as Delhi races to catch up with its population.

As one gets closer to New Delhi airport, the buildings proliferate some more, and the roads include flyovers and clover-leafs. Another tributary of the Yamuna river is seen, as well as a large barrage or dam outside Delhi. A railway line chain is sandwiched between residential clusters.

See the very distinct line between inhabited zones and the protected forest zone!
