An old Vagadia Rabari woman prays outside Shri Koteshwar Mahadev Temple in Kutch district, Gujarat. See her fascinating bangles - are they made of camel or cow bone?

Vagadia Rabari lead a nomadic life, whereas they live with their animals in villages. Women are dressed in a long black woolen shawl called lobadi, which they use to cover their heads.

Shri Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is situated 8 km from Ambaji near Saraswati River. The temple is located between the desert area of Kutch and the vast sea area. This temple along with the Valmiki Mahadev Mandir was built by the Maharana Pratap.

As per mythology, after getting impressed by Ravana's piety, Lord Shiva gifted him the Shivalingam. At this site, Ravana dropped the lingam and in order to punish him, the lingam turned into many pieces.

Since then, the place is sacred and pilgrims visit the temple to worship Lord Shiva. A holy kund is located nearby which is one of the most visited places by tourists and devotees.
