While Ecuadoran President Rafael Correa has agreed to debate any of his policies that the right-wing opposition does not agree with and has temporarily put on hold proposed fiscal measures, his upper middle class and wealthy opponents are planning to continue their protests. Correa, however, reaffirmed his conviction that the proposed inheritance and capital gains taxes would benefit the immense majority of the population.
