Rallies have been held for the last two days in Quito, Guayaquil and other cities of Ecuador in support of a new bill to tax the wealthy proposed by President Rafael Correa. According to the bill, only the wealthiest people in the country will be obliged to pay a small percentage on their inheritance. The show of support comes in the face of violent tactics used in demonstrations calling for the ouster of the democratically elected president. teleSUR
