At the CELAC-EU Summit in Brussels the European Commission has announced plans to donate over US$130 million to increase EU investment and business cooperation in Caribbean and Latin American countries. The two-day summit is focusing on bilateral trade, climate change, and the improvement of relations with Cuba. The European Union devotes one third of its foreign investment to the CELAC region. Demonstrators from several Latin American countries, including Mexico and Colombia, protested outside the European Parliament against the arrival of their respective leaders whom they accuse of covering up human rights violations. teleSUR
