After an altercation with guild member Natsu Dragneel, she is invited to join Team Natsu at Fairy Tail. Over the course of the series, they have become best friends and care deeply for each other. Their will-they-won’t-they romance keeps us wishing for a happy end to this fairy tail.
#9: Kurisu Makise and Okabe Rintarou
"Steins;Gate" (2011)
In this complicated series about time travel, Kurisu Makise and Okabe Rintarou are scientists that meet during a time travel theory lecture. After some confusing events over Kurisu's supposed death and rebirth, she joins Okabe in discovering and analyzing different time lines. This relationship is the focal point of the series, driving many of the characters motivations as well as main events. What would you do to prevent the death of someone you loved?
#8: Kudo Shinichi and Mouri Ran
"Detective Conan/Case Closed" (1996-)
Two of the main characters in the Detective Conan/Case Closed series, Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri are childhood friends that are madly in love with each other but can't confess their feelings for each other. Both characters serve as their love interests through their respective canon storylines. Ran has actually confessed her feelings to Shinichi while he is under the guise of Detective Conan on more than one occasion, not knowing Shinichi is Conan.

The bond between a meister and their weapon is a strong one, right down to their souls. Students of the Death Weapon Meister Academy, Soul and Maka are a weapon/meister team training to eliminate evil souls for the Grim Reaper. Maka and Soul learn to bond as a team and develop a relationship that goes beyond more than simple friendship. While Soul is usually arrogant and callous, while with Maka he is caring and very protective over her.
#6: Suzaku Kururugi and Euphemia li Britannia
"Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" (2006-08)
Can a member of the royal family fall in love with her guardian? Of course! The relationship between Suzaku Kururugi and Euphemia li Britannia is a complicated one. Suzaku, a childhood friend of series anti-hero Lelouch, falls in love with Euphemia, Lelouch's sister. Suzaku works through the ranks to become Euphemia's guardian, where she confesses her love for him as well. This does not bode well for Lelouch's plan, so the relationship is put to a sudden end with Euphemia's death by Lelouch's hands.
#5: Raku Ichijou and Kosaki Onodera
"Nisekoi" (2014)
These two are absolutely adorable together. The newest pairing on our list, Raku Ichijou and Kosaki Onodera are high school students in the romantic comedy world of Nisekoi. Kosaki has developed a strong relationship with our protagonist Raku, serving as his medic and treating his various wounds, both literally and figuratively. Kosaki is one of the few girls that outwardly confess her feelings to Raku, despite not being able to be together. Fans love this pairing, as many people are able to relate.
#4: Ryuji Takasu and Taiga Aisaka
"Toradora!" (2008-09)
It’s amazing how much true love you find in middle-school. Ryuji Takasu and Taiga Aisaka, both protagonists in the Toradora! world, met by running into each other while attending Ohashi High School. What started out as a blackmail relationship over love letters, both Ryuji and Taiga have developed a significant bond over the course of the series. They start to see a whole new side to each other, eventually gaining enough courage to confess their feelings of love to one another.
#3: Tomoya Okazaki and Nagisa Furukawa
"Clannad" (2007-08)
Tomoya is a high school student who has become a delinquent due to the resentment of his current stance in life. Then he meets Nagisa and his whole world is turned upside down. He changes his nihilist outlook on life and learns the importance of friends and family, striving to have a better life in the future. In the sequel series Clannad: After Story, we are actually able to see Nagisa's and Tomoya's wedding and the birth of their child Ushio.

"Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood" (2009-10)
These two are among the most beloved couples in anime history. Edward Elric is a state alchemist who loses two limbs after attempting a dangerous and illegal human transmutation. Winry, a childhood friend of Edward's, designs mechanical prosthetics called automail to replace his missing limbs. Because of Edward’s life in the military, the two spend most of their lives apart, however it is hinted that they marry at the end of the series.
