Secondary students around Chile have joined striking teachers in protests against a new education bill, a measure promoted by President Michelle Bachelet. Once again Chilean police were quick to try to put the protest down. In Santiago, students occupied the radio station of the University of Chile, where they read a statement demanding free, quality education. Protesters are also demanding better salaries for instructors and the withdrawal of the education bill. teleSUR
