The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) wants local government units (LGUs) to ban the use of tricycles as school service.
The LTFRB said the safety of students is put at risk when tricycles carry more than the allowed passengers.
The agency is powerless to stop overloaded tricycles because it has no jurisdiction over them.
