Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto is expected to come under increased fire for controversy surrounding his personal finances after public documents showed he misled authorities on how he acquired one of his properties, the Reuters news agency reported Thursday. Peña Nieto has declared three times since 2013 that he acquired the property in question through a gift from his father. But a review of documents shows that the 1988 property acquisition in the town of Valle de Bravo was actually purchased for about US$5,000, while the property value statement at the time sets its value at US$5.
