In Chile, thousands of students continue to demand education reforms and an end to police brutality. Riot police have used water cannons to try to break up the protests, while demonstrators responded by hurling rocks and sticks at the police. The students charge that the police used excessive force in Valparaiso on May 21, to subdue the protests. At least three students are in critical condition after being beaten by police. teleSUR
