An elderly Unimog is doing what it was built for: working hard without complaining. Don´t try that with a modern SUV.
Flexible chassis German steel, 3 point mounted cab and load platform, portal axles with reduction hubs & cross axle diff locks, same track front and rear with no 'lead' in the front axle gearing, compressed air system built in, so it's easy to adjust tyre pressures absolutely critical on the 'Mog. Best workhorse ever! I have had mine since 1980 and will keep it until I die.
