Relatives of Colombia's Disappeared Demand Justice and Truth

2015-05-28 1

The last week of May is International Week of the Disappeared. Family members of Colombians who have been forcibly disappeared in the country's armed conflict demand justice for their loved ones and for the truth about what occurred to be disclosed through the declassification of government archives. Human rights organizations put the number of forcibly disappeared at 45,000, the highest in all of South America, but the controversial government Inspector General downgrades the figure to 2,760. Each case, however, has a human face to it. Natalia Margarita reports from Bogota. teleSUR
