Results from yesterday's elections in the former Dutch colony of Suriname are to be released later today. Voters cast ballots for all 51 seats in the National Assembly. The elected legislators will then select the country's president. Current President Desi Bouterse is opposed by Chandrika Persad Santokhi, who has run on a law and order platform and favors strengthening ties with the Netherlands. teleSUR
