After searching for more than a year, Cuba has finally been able to open a U.S. bank account with Florida-based Stonegate Bank which will allow it to resume consular services and add to strengthening diplomatic and commercial ties with the U.S.
The Cuban government has finally found another American bank with which to open an account.
Florida-based Stonegate Bank has recently confirmed that it will be the official financial institution for the Cuban Interests Section which is Havana’s diplomatic arm in the U.S.
Apparently, the move happened at the request of the U.S. Department of State so that the office could resume its consular services and move closer towards normalizing
