The Salvadoran Catholic Church and 250,000 lay Catholics will be out in force attending Saturday's ceremony to beatify Monsignor Oscar Arnulfo Romero, the "Bishop of the Poor", assassinated by a right-wing death squad in 1980. Many heads of state from around Latin America will also be in attendance. The government declared Saturday a national holiday to mark the occasion. Jorge Gestoso reports from San Salvador. teleSUR
