Cameron announces "radical" new anti-immigration measures for Britain

As promised the newly re-elected British prime minister is to get tough on immigration.

David Cameron announced on Thursday that the upcoming Queen’s speech would include proposals that will stem the tide of EU and non-EU migrants both legal and illegal, skilled and unskilled, coming to Britain.

But the speech came on a day new figures indicated 2014 saw the second-largest influx to Britain ever, and that there was a surge in people coming from outside the EU.

“I can announce we’ll push them forward with a new Immigration Task Force that has to start with making Britain a less attractive place to come and work illegally. The truth is it’s been too easy to work illegally, and too easy to employ illegal workers here in the UK. So we’re going to take a radical step and make illegal working a criminal offence in its own right,” he said.
