USS Constitution Pulled Into Dry Dock For Three-Year Restoration

The historic USS Constitution, famously nicknamed “Old Ironsides,” was recently pulled into dry dock at Charlestown Navy Yard near Boston to undergo a three-year repair and restoration project.

The legendary war ship, the U.S.S. Constitution, was recently pulled into dry dock to undergo a major restoration. 

Approximately 150 workers helped to maneuver the vessel into its slip at the historic Charlestown Navy Yard near Boston overnight.

The three-year project is expected to involve replacing the hull’s copper sheeting, swapping out worn wooden beams, and repairing other necessary areas.
