Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi embarked on a 15 km 'Padyatra' (foot march) to highlight issues of farmers, in Adilabad district of Telangana. He is also expected to address a rally. This visit will focus on the issues concerning farmers and he will also meet the families of the farmers who committed suicide after failing to repay debts. The Congress Vice President will meet students of Osmania University and will address employment issues. The Congress Vice President, who had attacked the Modi govt on land bill issue in Parliament and reached out to farmers in Punjab and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in recent weeks, is visiting Telangana for the first time since it was carved out from Andhra Pradesh.
