Three masked men entered the storeroom at around 10:40 p.m. They tied up the lone security guard on duty, then drove off with the four heads in a white van. The guard was eventually able to free himself, then raise the alarm.

Authorities believe that the thieves are part of an Irish gypsy network based in Rathkeale in County Limerick.

It is suspected that the heads were destined for Asia where the horn is used to make traditional medicine. The street value of the eight horns stolen was estimated to more than $650,000.
