Honey trap: Fifty-year-old Brooklyn, New York, native Robert Reich fell to his death around midnight on Tuesday July 17 after being lured onto a rooftop, robbed and sprayed in the face with mace or pepper spray.
It's believed Reichl was on his way to pay men for repair work on his family's buildings. He wound up at 4th Avenue and 47th Street and began drinking with some youngsters outside. Police say two women set a honeytrap and lured him onto the building's roof with the promise of a good time.
Once up there, he undressed in front of the vixens, who then snatched the $2,000 in cash he was carrying. The women disappeared and Reichl was confronted by three men. One sprayed mace in his face, causing him to reel back and go over the roof's edge. Building tenants found Reichl early on Wednesday and alerted police. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the two women and three attackers acted as a group and possibly also took his cellphone.
Ruben Santiago, 23, was charged with second-degree murder; Glennys Reyes, 23, and Randy Ortiz, 24, with grand larceny. Police are still searching for at least two other people in connection to the case.
