Montgomery, Alabama police have made an arrest in the fatal weekend shooting of 22-year-old Glenn Thomas and 21-year-old Kimberle Johnson. Thomas was an up-and-coming rapper known as Doe B while Johnson was a college student enrolled at Troy University. Both victims were from Montgomery.

Montgomery police have charged 25-year-old Jason McWilliams of Montgomery with capital murder after he turned himself into Montgomery police detectives late on Sunday.

Police responded on Saturday, December 28 around 1:30am to a report of multiple shots fired at the Centennial Hill Bar and Grill, formerly known as the Rose Supper Club, located on the 900 block of Highland Avenue.

When authorities arrived at the scene they discovered Johnson and Thomas both suffering from gunshot wounds. Johnson died at the scene while Thomas was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Six other bystanders at the scene also received gunshot wounds. All were transported from the scene or taken by personal vehicle to local hospitals for treatment.

Police say the motive for the shooting was initially under investigation but are now indicating that the shooting was a result of an ongoing dispute between Thomas and McWilliams.

After the shooting Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange ordered the club to be closed immediately saying it is: "an imminent threat to public safety." The club has been the scene of several homicides and shootings.

After McWilliams was arrested he was transported to the Montgomery County Detention facility where he is being held without bond.
