Recent graduate Annie Kim Pham, 23, was at a local Santa Ana bar yesterday. When she left the club, she was casually walking on the sidewalk with her friends. Also on the sidewalk were a group of women who were trying to take each other's picture. Pham accidently walked into their shot and that's when things went downhill.
The group picks a fight, and Pham argues back with them. But someone in the group blindsides her, and it soon turns into a one-sided melee, leaving Pham lying unconscious on the sidewalk.
Even though she was rushed to the hospital, doctors pronounced her brain dead.
Many are asking how could this happen to someone as caring as Kim Pham? She would always advise her friends to "just go live life no matter what."
It came then as no surprise that she wanted her body to be kept alive long enough to donate her organs. "She would go out of her way to help others and never expect anything back from them," says her step sister.
Santa Ana Police have arrested a woman connected to the crime on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm. Police are still searching for the other suspects at this time.
