President Barack Obama filled out his NCAA bracket with ESPN at the White House, this year betting on Michigan State to beat defending champions Louisville in the NCAA men's final title game.
Every president needs an outlet. Clinton had his cigars and George W. Bush had his books. It's no secret that Obama's favorite past time is smoking dope, sorry, basketball. Like any good old American sports fan, Obama also enjoys his daily dose of SportsCenter just as much as the next guy, he just has to find time to squeeze it in.
Obama filled out his bracket in an event that has been come to be known as "Barack-etology" on SportsCenter and was aired Wednesday at 9:30am. Barack-etology is entering its sixth consecutive year. President Obama filled out his bracket with ESPN's Andy Katz.
"Tom Izzo is a great tournament couch," Obama said. "I've got Michigan State going all the way. ... He knows how to motivate folks and he knows how to coach. My pick: Michigan State. Bring it home for me. It's been a while since I've won my pool."
Along with the fourth-seeded Spartans and Cardinals, Obama also picked No. 1 overall seed Florida and top seed Arizona to reach the Final Four in Arlington, Texas.
"I know these are not imaginative picks, but I think they're the right ones," he said. The Commander-in-Chief believes that the Michigan State Spartans will be cutting down the nets in April. Obama got the state right, just the wrong team. Go Blue!!
