Mireille Miller-Young, an assistant professor of feminism and pornography studies at UC Santa Barbara, faces charges after snatching a protest sign from a 16-year-old anti-abortion.

The incident took place on March 4 and was caught on videotape. According to reports, Thrin Short and her sister Joan Short, 21, were demonstrating in the free speech area at the UC Santa Barbara campus. A confrontation ensued, with Miller-Young seizing a protest sign from Thrin Short and later destroying it.

According to a statement given to police, Miller-Young admitted to taking the sign, saying she felt "triggered" and offended by images on the posters. She told police she "just grabbed it from this girl's hands ... I'm stronger, so I was able to take the poster."
