A college girl was killed by her married boyfriend, who drugged her and sprayed propane in her mouth for 10 minutes when she was unconscious.

A 23-year-old Taiwanese college student surnamed Chen (陳) was reportedly killed by her 38-year-old private investigator boyfriend Huang Wen-jin(黃文進) last year. When police found her body, it was little more than a skeleton.

Four years ago, Chen's then boyfriend cheated on her, so she sought the help of a fortune teller-cum-witch doctor, hoping some spells would work magic. It didn't work. But that's when the fortune teller introduced her to Huang. Although she soon learned that Huang was married and already had another mistress, she and Huang began a relationship and the young girl fell deeply in love.

Chen sold the house her late parents had left her, so that Huang could use the US$100,000 to fund his private investigation agency. But prosecutors suspect that as soon as Huang got the money, he dumped the girl. They suspect that when Chen said she couldn't bear to break up, Huang set in motion a plan to kill her.

The lovelorn Chen then sought help from another fortune teller, hoping to win Huang back. Knowing this, Huang asked his friend Shi Kun-ji (施坤志) to pretend to be the fortune teller's assistant. Shi made Chen drink some water that had been mixed with a date rape drug and sleeping pills, lying to her and telling her that it was a magic potion that would ward off bad spirits.

Shi then brought the unconscious Chen back to Huang's apartment, and received US$1,300 for his services.

Huang allegedly sprayed propane gas at Chen's nose and mouth for 10 minutes, suffocating and killing her. The suspect then allegedly dumped Chen's body into a river. Investigators found her body in February.

The police discovered that Huang had possibly asked his friend Shi to kill other girls previously. However, Shi denies the allegations. Under investigation, Huang's story came apart, as he retracted and changed his statements many ti
