Senior Shabazz Napier did it all last night as he dropped 22 points, grabbed six boards, dished out three assists, and picked three pockets as the UConn Huskies topped the Kentucky Wildcats for the NCAA 2014 National Championship with a 60-54 win Monday night.

Napier had a killer game along with fellow backcourt guard Ryan Boatright, who finished the game with 14 points.

"You're looking at the hungry Huskies," Napier told the crowd and TV audience as confetti rained down. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is what happens when you banned us."

UConn's unlikely national championship this year comes only a short year after the Huskies were barred from March Madness because of grade problems.

Napier kneeled down and put his forehead to the court for a long while after the final buzzer sounded. He was wiping back tears when he cut down the net. "I see my guys enjoying it," Napier said. "That's the most special feeling ever."

The Huskies jumped to an early lead on the Wildcats in the first half of Monday's final with some great shooting from downtown as Shabazz Napier dropped three big triples.

UConn's unstoppable backcourt of Napier and Boatright were grabbing boards, breaking ankles and picking pockets against Kentucky's Fab Five all night long.

Kentucky clawed their way back in the second half off strong play from James Young and Julius Randle, but shot themselves in the foot by blowing it at the free throw line.

UConn made its free throws down the stretch was cutting down the nets after winning 60-54. Congratulations to the 2014 national champs, the UConn Huskies!
