Four fourth-graders have been suspended from school after one of them was busted for dealing marijuana to the other three this week in Greeley, Colorado.

A 10-year-old boy was caught selling weed to three of his friends on Monday. He reportedly took the buds from his grandparents without their consent. Two boys and one girl bought the herb from the boy for a total of $11.

The next day, one of the boys who purchased the weed returned to school with a marijuana edible that he acquired from relatives. He offered it to the boy who was selling, who then took a bite.

In a letter to parents, Monfort Elementary School Principal Jennifer Sheldon said that no children were injured. The students involved will face disciplinary actions.

"We know that many adults have greater access to marijuana since the change in the drug's legal status in Colorado," Sheldon wrote. "We urge all parents, grandparents and anyone who cares for children to treat marijuana as you would prescription drugs, alcohol or even firearms. This drug is potentially lethal to children, and should always be kept under lock and key, away from young people."

Recreational marijuana use is legal in Colorado for adults aged 21 years or older.
