A family in Riverside California was changed forever over the Father's Day's weekend after a tragic, but totally preventable accident.
The Rajsombath family had started out the Father's Day weekend with some food and drinks, but police say the meal descended into a family argument.
After arguing with her dad, 37-year-old Soukvilay Barton then declared she was leaving, but her father, 69-year-old Bounmy Rajsombath, pled with her not to drive while drunk.
He then walked to the driveway to again plead with her not to drive, but she suddenly reversed her car.
After discovering she had run over her dad, Barton wept as paramedics and police arrived, but it was too late. Rajsombath was declared dead at a Riverside hospital.
Fox News reports the deceased was a former Laotian military officer who once ran a refugee camp in Thailand during the Vietnam War. Rajsombath settled in the U.S. in 1979.
