All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. At least that appears to be the lesson a cop in Miami is learning after he got suspended — for simply doing his job.
Officer Marcel Jackson was on duty in Miami when he observed a speeding driver. Using his own 'GoPro' camera, Officer Jackson caught what happened next on film.
After the speeding vehicle finally stopped, officer Jackson tried to talk to the driver, but the man suddenly threw open his car door, beginning an altercation with Jackson, yelling, "do you know who I am?"
Driver David Ramras--who turned out to be Officer Jackson's superior officer--was thrown to the ground ... a tame move considering US cops aren't generally known for peaceful responses to lunging suspects.
Other police officers arrived and confirmed Ramras was a high-ranking cop. But despite video showing Ramras lunging at Jackson, Jackson was the one suspended.
Lieutenant Ramras was reassigned but not suspended. Officer Jackson and others believe the video, however, demonstrates quite clearly that Ramras was in the wrong and tried to abuse his position to get out of a ticket. An investigation is pending.
