A man, identified as Jared Mortimer by South African news website 'The Juice' claimed that Oscar Pistorius was drunk and very aggressive in a VIP nightclub on Saturday, just a few days after court adjourned his murder trial, following the close of his legal defence.
According to Mortimer, he was introduced to Pistorius via a mutual friend who was also in Pistorius' private booth. However, after joining the group, Pistorius began talking about how his friends have backstabbed him during the trial and how connected his family are. The rant went downhill after Pistorius insulted President Zuma's family, not knowing that Mortimer is friends with the President's son, Duduzane, claiming the President works for Pistorius' family and that they own the South African National Defence Force.
Mortimer claimed that Pistorius then aggressively grabbed him by the neck and began poking him in the chest saying "you'll never get the better of me. I'll always get the better of you".
That's when Mortimer pushed Pistorius, causing him to fall over a chair.
Pistorius was then escorted out of the club in Sandton district by the bouncers.
However, according to one of the managers of the club, Perry Mermigas, there was no altercation whatsoever, that it had all been a story that was made up because of the ongoing trial. Mermigas claimed that Pistorius ordered a few drinks, and left the club peacefully an hour later.
The 27-year-old's spokeswoman confirmed that an altercation between Pistorius and Mortimer did indeed took place, however, denied that he behaved inappropriately.
Pistorius murder trial will continue on August 7th for closing arguments.
