Cheryl Marks, hair designer for Pitch Perfect 2, explains that getting the Barden Bellas set for a long shoot day took a very precise "dance" of sorts. "If you were running behind, you'd mess up your dance with the makeup," said Marks. Given each Bella had an hour solely dedicated to perfecting her hair, it doesn't seem like time would be an issue. But as Cheryl explained to me during our behind-the-scenes chat, each actress had a different style and texture to her hair - each regimen was specialized for each character.
Working on a film with a female director and a majority of female actresses, there was a lot of input in the Bellas' looks, which benefitted the hair in the movie. "It was a team effort," said Marks.
