Desperate for grandchild, crazy mother hires monk to cast spells on daughter-in-law - TomoNews

In Kaohsiung, in southern Taiwan, a mother-in-law was so desperate for grandchildren that she hired a monk to cast spells on her daughter-in-law in hopes that she’d finally get pregnant.

Which is pretty hard to do when you and your husband have never had sex, even once, in your 5 year marriage.

The daughter-in-law, Xiao Li, explained to a judge that her husband had never consummated their marriage and that most evenings he chose to go drinking and clubbing with friends. Xiao Li also mentioned that her husband didn’t want to get married and had only been pressured into it by his mother.

His mother showed an amazing amount of restraint by not badgering Xiao Li about grandchildren until a week after the marriage. But it was all in vain, since her son wasn’t sharing a bed with his wife, let alone having sex with her.

We suspect he might not be all that interested in women. Hm.

Xiao Li said she finally applied for a divorce after her mother-in-law hired a monk to cast a spell on her in hopes of her getting pregnant. The monk told Xiao Li that her womb was a cold and unwelcoming place, which was why she was unable to get pregnant.

We assume as a monk he doesn’t understand the mechanics or biology of getting a woman knocked up.

A judge has granted the divorce and told Xiao Li’s husband that he must pay USD $10K to Xiao Li for emotional damage and distress.
