The 47th anniversary of the so-called Jabidah massacre is commemorated earlier in the island of Corregidor. The government formally and officially acknowledges it as a part of the Philippine history. The Jabidah massacre served as the inspiration of former UP professor Nur Misuari to form the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
