There are many different sorts of snack in the world. Unsurprisingly Dmitry Leus Cuisine’s favourite are Russian snacks or really anything involving pickles. Another famous Russian snack is fish roe or caviar, which you can use to make delicious blinis. Making caviar may seem a little complicated but given the right skills it can be relatively simple. Usually the more difficult element is sourcing the eggs themselves. Vodka is of course a must with most Russian snacks, it is such an amenable drink and goes with almost anything.
The key is to get a really top quality, well-filtered bottle, none of the cheap stuff. Vodka should have almost no smell and certainly no bitter chemically taste. It should be so clean and delicious that you can enjoy sipping it over ice. The excellent accompaniment to a fine snack.
Dmitry Leus Cuisine’s favourite vodka has to be Stolichnaya, the vodka of classicists, with its smooth and slightly creamy taste. As with all vodka, it should be served ice cold.
