Officials there assert that the current population is far more than they are equipped to handle.
It’s estimated that there are about 80 thousand of the animals living within the nation’s borders.
Zimbabwe’s government says they only have resources to keep half that number.
Of particular concern to animal activists is that the sale and export plans involve about 60 babies.
