2015-05-06 1

Ecuador's Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion has signed agreements with five national federations representing people with disabilities, with the aim of furthering their rights. The agreements seek to ensure that all rights of people with disabilities are upheld and that public policy is enacted in compliance with the 2012 Organic Law on Disabilities. The agreements will also ensure US$250 million in state funding for projects addressing the needs of the disabled. Under the Citizens' Revolution national programs have achieved major strides in integrating the disabled in Ecuadoran society. Liz Scherffius reports from Quito. teleSUR
