Sumo Wrestlers Make Newborns Wail for Naki Sumo Crying Festival

These massive Japanese sumo wrestlers aren’t going into combat, they are in a competition to scare babies and make them cry. Seriously. Supervised by a judge, sumo wrestlers hold up babies and make loud noises and scary faces to get them to wail as part of the 400-year-old Naki Sumo festival. If the baby fails to cry a referee enters the arena and attempts to scare them with traditional masks.
